Traditional.
Photojournalistic.
Artistic.
Traditional
Posed photos are the essence. All photographs are
typically in color and
aided by flash. The Wedding Couple are posed with
many groups of people.
Many standard shots are made of the processional as
the wedding party
enters. Most creativity is in the posing and
capturing of pleasant
expressions from large groups at once. The story is
largely told in a
pre-arranged set of photographs picked from a
planned menu.
After the ceremony, group shots usually take 30 to
45 minutes while guests
wait for the reception to begin. Candid photos are
primarily from the
reception, such as the first dance, the
father-daughter dance, cutting the
cake, the toasts, kids playing, the bouquet toss,
the garter toss, rice
throwing and the departure in a car or limo.
Events are often directed by the photographer to
insure quality results.
Most of the photographic challenge is in the posing,
lighting and directing.
Fifty shots or more are made per hour. At least 100
color 4x6 photos are
delivered in the selection album. Roughly 75% are
posed photos and ceremony
shots with 25% consisting of reception shots. Flash
is used to augment
most photographs. Enlargements of up to 11x14 are
always available.
